Passport

When we stay in aboard. Different country. Passport is like something that can represent us and can tell many things about where are we come from. How environment. How social and politic. Or it can tell everything all around you and even yourself as well by law and feeling.

This is my first time to be artist in residence program and also first time that I go out my country. So everything is very new for me. It’s new for me as much as I am not sure how to see and understand it all. So I choose passport to present myself and represent to my experience or knowledge that I found while I stay in Busan, South Korea.

우리가 외국에 머무를때 여권은 우리가 어디서 왔는지, 어떠한 환경에서 지내고 있었는지 그리고 사회적 정치적인 것들을 비롯하여 아주 많은 것을 대표합니다. 어쩔때는 그것이 소지자의 모든 주변 상황 뿐 만 아니라 공식적이든 감성적이든 간에 정체성 마저도 결정해버릴때가 있습니다.

레지던스 프로그램에 참여한 것은 이번이 처음이고 또 해외로 나온것 역시 처음입니다. 그래서 모든것이 제게는 새롭고 낯설었습니다. 어떻게 받아들여야 할 지 혹은 어떻게 해야할지를 모를 만큼 모든 것이 그랬습니다. 그래서 저는 이러한 나 자신과 그간 배에서 지내면서 알게되었던것 혹은 경험을 표현하는 수단으로써 여권을 선택 하였습니다
